drive faster boy

Yeah...I haven't had a chance to update this thing with all the busy-ness and homework and college stuff, sorry! Last week was nothing special. The college fair was all right...I got some information and there are two colleges I'm really into but I haven't made a final decision yet and I'm still working on applications. On Tuesday I had to work and on Wednesday Lindsay and I went to where else but Wal-Mart to pick up my Homecoming pictures. I also watched The Day After Tomorrow which is a really good movie. Lindsay and I also watched A Walk To Remember (yay...love that movie).

On Thursday I had to work and then my dad and I went up to the mall and I got the new Gossip Girl book (which is currently being passed around so let me know if you wanna read it). I also went to Wal-Mart (hahahaha, yes AGAIN) and bought stuff for our trippy trip to NYC!!! I believe I purchases some gum and mints (spearmint of course) and some cameras. I also bought a going away card for Lauren from NJ but she is currently M.I.A.

On Friday I only had to go to school for three out of four blocks and then I skipped Spanish to go home and pack for NY. We left at like 1:30 and got to our hotel in Somerset Hills, New Jersey. There were a lot of really cool little towns near there (it was a rich area with huge mansion houses) that looked like towns from movies where the main street has all flowers and a fountain and shops everywhere. Our hotel was really nice too...I didn't complain at all (I can be a spoiled brat when it comes to stuff like that sometimes). After we got settled in we got ready to drive to the city, yay. We went through the tunnel so it took FOREVER, but when we finally got there it was pretty cool. We drove around and looked at all the stuff we normally look at and then we did what we always do when we first get there, go get some Ray's pizza because it's the absolute best ever. Then my dad and I went into a few stores and then we continued to drive around and I took pictures (even thought it was raining I had my window down, haha). We also went to Tower and my dad offered to buy me a CD like he always does so I got the Killers recommended by none other than Lindsay M. Herr (haha) and I must say that it definitely rocks and I'm totally in love with it right now (read: I'll be sick of it in about a week or two).

On Saturday we woke up, ate breakfast and got ready again. My mom always wanted to see Long Island and my dad wanted to go to the very tip which is called Montauk Point (because that's where Jaws took place or something) so we drove allllll the way to the tip and back. It was a long but fun ride because we got to go through places where I've never been before like Brooklyn and we got to go to Amityville which was another movie-like town that looked perfect with perfect houses and perfect trees and flowers and all the houses had boats and were right near the water (very awesome). My mom is all into seeing big huge houses so we got to see a few of those and we also stopped for a potty break at the fanciest McDonald's I've ever seen...it looked like a house. My dad was in this huge rush because he wanted to get to the point before it got dark and we made it so he was really happy. It was so beautiful there...it's literally a point and there's a light house and everything. My dad and I walked down to the beach part and up on these rocks where there were a million bazillion fisherman. Oh, and people were surfing!!! And it was freezing...I don't know how they surfed but it was fun to watch and we took some pictures. I hope they came out really nice because the sun was setting.

Remember before when I said I was a spoiled brat...well here's a good example. We had to eat dinner somewhere on the way back and we got off the highway where there was a shopping center and other restaurants around. My dad and mom decided to go to the Ground Round and my mom's like "Is that OK w/ you?" and she knows I don't know like but I said yes. So on the way to get to the Ground Round there was a Panera's (!!!!!) and they said NO and I was mad. So I'm like whatev, I'll suffer through the Ground Round for these loser parents. We walk in and the place is PACKED with all these loud crazy New Yorkers watching the (baseball?) game on this huge TV in the back and there is like FOOD all over the floor. Seriously, there was an entire loaf of garlic bread next to my chair. Not even kidding. So my dad is out smoking and the waiter (very cute actually...) brings us a basket of popcorn. POPCORN, wtf?? When I go to a restaurant I don't want a greasy basket of popcorn...sorry if I sound like a snothead but puh-lease. So everything on the menu is f'd up and did I mention how I dislike the Ground Round? Every table had little kids and and it was so loud...we should've just went to McDonald's if we wanted to see trash on the floor and screaming little childrens and POPCORN in BASKETS. So I got this soggy wrap that the hot waiter recommended and my mom was all like "I enjoyed MY meal, blah blah blah" and I'm thinking "GOOD FOR YOU...told you we should've went to a decent restaurant like Panera's." I guess I'm just picky about that stuff. Ugh, POPCORN in a BASKET without any paper in it. Like other people stuck their greasy hands in there. Garlic bread anyone? Anybody need an extra set of utentils because there's some under my chair!

Now that I'm over that whole ordeal...On Sunday we packed up and headed back for the city. My dad and I went to Barnes and Noble and I got a back, some of these coolio plastic playing cards, a dictionary (yeah, I'm a nerd, no actually it's a "family" dictionary) and a pen (which I can't find) and...oh a giant calendar of NYC sites and stuff that is beautiful. I also went back to Tower and bought Good Charlotte's CD because my dad bought it (haha).

We went to Ray's for more pizza for the ride home and then we left. I was reading the Gossip Girl book the whole time in the car until it got dark and my mom yelled at me so I finished it before we got home w/ the light of my cell phone, hahaha. And I listened to the Killers. So now when I listen to that it makes me think of New York and the Gossip Girl people. What a dork I am. Came home did homework. Really did NOT want to come home...it was really great to be away from home and not have to worry about anything.

Um school this week was pretty fun I guess...nothing exciting. I got my shiz together and got all my applications almost filled out and all my reference letters out. I went all the way to the library to photocopy...then I went to Wal-Mart (hahahahahaha) to buy something I don't even remember what. Tonight I went to Wendy's and Wal-Mart to buy more cheap things. Oh, and I saw this kid's brother there and it made me laugh really hard, hahahahaha. Then I came home and did nothing and drank a cup of joe. Coffee is like my new thing now. I drank it a lot this past weekend since there are bout 539,000,000 Starbucks in the Manhatten area and our hotel had free coffee in the mornings. So now I guess I'm addicted and I already had two cups tonight and I'm about to go get my third. Isn't it unhealthy to have caffiene after 4 PM?? Oh well!

Smooches, *Me*
