life is good :D

I haven't written anything in such a long time, but with some major transitions coming up in the next week or so I figured I better talk about them, as well as some of the awesome stuff that's been happening since I graduated.

I can basically sum up all of this by talking about my weekend. It was a wonderful weekend! On Friday I finally got to meet with my new responsibility, a little boy that I will be working with on a daily basis in a multiple disabilities classroom in Lancaster City. I'm super excited yet scared about the new job...I'm excited because I'm finally getting back into working and doing what I love to do as well as the fact that I can already tell I am going to learn SO much from this job. Not surprisingly, the teacher and everyone working with the boy (TSS, psychologist, etc) is SO involved and super passionate about helping him. I know I will learn so much from those people and I am eager to get to know the psychologist and learn things from her that I can take with me when I pursue my Master's. On the other hand, I'm a little scared because I have never worked with a child like this in the capacity that I'll be working with him. At my other jobs, there were no-touch policies and I was less involved with actually helping the kids. I just played with them, babysat, or like at my internship, observed others working directly with the kids. Now I'll be reponsible for this child for the duration of the school day which is a little overwhelming. BUT, like I said I'm excited to learn and I know that even though it won't be easy I'll come out of the experience with a lot of useful knowledge :)

In other areas of life things are going pretty well. I've been able to catch up with a lot of old friends now that school is over and it is actually very refreshing! I like being able to get together with them and go around sharing what we've all been doing for the last few years. I love that we have all changed and have adopted different views based on our own experiences, but that at the heart of it all we are still the same people and can get along wonderfully and reminisce about high school. This past weekend I saw Sarah and Erin and it was a blast...it's like there wasn't enough time in the world to just sit and talk and catch up. I'm so glad they are both back home! Today was also Rachel's wedding shower which was pretty nice. I'm very happy for her as well, and I wish her and Joe the best of luck with their new apartment. I'm jealous a little...but not too much (ahhh responsibility!)

Everything else is going pretty well...I'm in the process of applying for graduate school at Millersville. I think that if I am accepted for the Spring I will probably start out as part-time since I will be working almost full time and then see how things progress from there. I will just be excited to take a class or two to start, then build that up over summer and do more by fall 2010. Ahhh that seems so far away!

Anyway, grown up life is upon us all, yet I still feel like I'm 13. Story of my life.

If you're made it this far, then you're worthy of being my friend. The end.
